It was a pleasure to meet and share the experience of a bike tour. I will certainly comment very positively about it, and look forward to next time.

We loved the mountainbike tour along the creek. Our guides Benson and Anderson were very nice, took enough breaks to have us enjoy the beautiful views and introduce us to the local villages. We would definitely recommend this to all our friends. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the photos! We had a really lovely bike ride--great workout and Anderson and Benson were excellent tour guides. Next time we'll do the hilly route!

Thank you very much for organization and for sending foto! It was more difficult then i suppose, and rather challenging for me! But it was great experience!! Organization was excellent and i will tell about my experience with my pleasure, when i come back home! Thank you one more time!!!

Thank you very much for the pictures. Well received!
Please relay again our thanks to Benson and Anderson for an extraordinary Sunday afternoon that fit nicely between the arrival to Mombasa and a few days of work.

Nice opportunity to see other side of Mombasa. Dozens of happy friendly children meet you with "Jambo" and follow you. You pass among the huts, where somebody washes, cooks, children play. Quiet and pure life. It's awesome to be in creek and see how the tide is rising and the water comes to your feet. And of course spectacular view of dale.

Matthijs Netherlands 2. 02. 2014

This Bike tour was very exciting. We have seen villages which you can't see so easily in another way (I think). And we have seen beautiful nature. The two guides are very helpful and careful. I really recommend this Bike tour.

Marianne & Christian Deutschland 14. 01. 2014

A tour with "Bike the Coast" is surely a great opportunity to get to know a little piece of "the real Kenya" which you can't discover in the hotels along the coast. Biking in the hot afternoon sun was quite a challenge, however, our wonderful guides Benson and Julius took good care of us and it was possible to take a break whenever needed.
Getting an insight into the remote villages was definitely our highlight!

most EXCELLENT experience ever!!!!! other than diving the bike tour was the best thing i did in mombasa!!!

Vielen Dank!

Thanks for the nice pictures. The resolution is OK. It was a pleasure to make the tour.

Su and Adam Vancouver, Canada 24. 12. 2012

The Three Coastal Areas tour was the best Christmas present we could have had as we cycled through a huge diversity of scenery, towns and villages, red dirt hills, posh homes, maize fields, above a large creek, on dried river beds, up and down hills, through forest, passing cows, goats, camels, monkeys and many playful children with their exuberant cries of "jambo jambo!" and "how are you, how are you!?" all in the sweltering heat of Dec 24.
Such a intimate view of these fascinating areas and their peoples could only have been possible with our excellent guides Benson and Anderson. Both young men were friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and most importantly, patient with our many photo stops and questions.
This tour was a wonderful respite from the indulgences of 20 days on a luxury cruise ship and the sense of accomplishment from cycling through some challenging terrain, in the mid-day heat, was great. As with so many rewarding experiences, the more you give the more you receive, and this one was no exception.
We would tour again with Bike the Coast, Rolf's well-organized local operation, whose goal of ensuring your safety and well-being is second only to giving you an unforgettable glimpse into how life is lived in this slice of Kenya, without hesitation. We have posted a similar review but with several specific tips in Trip Advisor, so suggest you look there for more information."

We were doing the ride as a fund-raising venture for a Kenyan school so the experience meant a lot to us. And the company did not let us down.
The service was friendly and professional throughout. Our guides Benson and Anderson were extremely patient and understanding as we stopped to take photos, soak up the atmosphere and ask questions. We can't commend them enough for their politeness, enthusiasm and support.
This is no run-of-the-mill guided tour. This is sightseeing with a difference. Bike the Coast thrusts you into real Kenyan village life - to feel, see, breath and taste it. It takes you to an Africa that the guide books won't. And allows you to meet amazing people of all ages along the way and see countryside to die for.
The experience will stay with us forever. It was the highlight of our holiday - as good (if not better) than the lion we saw on safari!

Hans Peter Schoenmaker The Netherlands 3. 8. 2011

Great biketour! Safe way to see something of the real life in Kenia, away from the mainroad. Guides Benson and Anderson did everything to make it worthwhile. Owner Rolf is a real nice guy that only wants you to have a nice experience. It works! This trip is a must do!!!

Bike the Coast was an amazing experience. Hard work - but totally worth it. The team are so helpful too, and really well organised. I definitely recommend it, it's a great way to see part of Kenya.

My 16-year old grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-hour cycle tour with Benson and Anderson! It was a nice mix of challenging, thrilling, and exhausting. I found everything to be well-planned and thought out! If it works for me to come again in the future, I will look forward to it!

Yes we are back in cold, miserable, grey England! The highlight of our holiday was our bike ride and we loved it. It was so interesting and Julius and Benson were so helpful, patient and informative. Thank you so much for the photos. We were very impressed with the whole set up, very professional and a real sense of achievement when we had finished the ride!
Thank you so much and we we'll be back next January! Smile emoticon

Hi Rolf and Benson!
I really loved the trip! I think it is something you really have to do if you go to Mombasa, because then you see the real life of Kenyan People. Also biking in the heat and across the paths is a great experience. I'am sad to be back home, but if i ever come back to Mombasa i will definitively book another tour! Thank you both very much and i hope a lot of people will see all the beautiful things.
Greetings, Conny

Lieber Rolf! Jambo Benson! Jambo Anderson!

Thanks for the great day out; we did the 'Bike Adventure' 3-4 difficulty. Great scenery, a biking experience through the Kenyan villages & surrounding countryside we'll never forget.
Benson & Anderson our guides were knowledgable, friendly & experienced.
Would highly recommend this trip to anyone who likes biking, when we go back to Kenya I intend to go again.

Thank you Rolf, Benson and Anderson for allowing a safari cramped, bus addled tourist to stretch her legs and explore a rural area just north of Mombasa.
There is no better way to see a place than by bike and my guides were adaptable to my needs to stretch my legs and explore at a zippy pace. It was a great experience on my morning of departure. The equipment worked well, the guides were informative and adapted to my need for hills and speed and they showed me areas that I would not otherwise have ventured into on my own.
I highly recommend a bike excursion with Bike the Coast.

Thank you for the most enjoyable day of my entire time in Mombasa. The trip was absolutely delightful in every way: right from the extremely professional check-in procedure (the first time I have ever been asked to provide an emergency contact person in all the adventure traveling I have done). The information in both the website and the brochures is very comprehensive and accurate. The equipment is well cared for (the first time I have even been offered cycling gloves on a bike trip); the owner is welcoming and a good source of local information; the guide, Benson, is knowledgeable of the local area and very attentive and intuitive to the needs of the guests. The trip itself was unforgettable. Riding through small villages, in the shade of cashew and mango trees, seeing monkeys playing the trees, colorful birds flitting by, being chased by beautiful children shouting "Muzungu!", and greeted with "Jambo" by people walking to the mosque and to church, watching people build mud houses, draw water from wells, catch crabs, mend fishing nets... this is truly a Kenyan experience one would never get in a safari van.
The snack stop in the mud-walled restaurant was real a highlight. I had a nice chat with the young waiter about his school work, along with an explanation of how the walls and the roof were handmade by the family.
Biking provides the ideal pace and distance to experience a taste of local life: less intrusive than walking, but much closer and more "real" than driving. On a bike you can smell the flowers, hear the children, greet the elders, without feeling that you are intruding uninvited. And, you are moving fast enough to cover many different areas in a short time. It is also the perfect activity in the tropical heat, as you always have a nice breeze cooling you while you cycle.
And the quote of the day? Benson and I were speaking English at a rest stop when a small child said (and Benson translated for me), "Oh, that Muzungu, she is speaking Luo" (possibly the farthest away language he is aware of!)
I highly recommend this trip... it is a perfect ending to a diving holiday (something to do on that last no-dive day), or a safari (a way to stretch van-cramped muscles), or a beach holiday (when you have had enough eating and relaxing and need to burn a few calories before getting on the plane).

Hello everybody!
If you like to cycle it is an absolutely MUST to book a tour by Bike the Coast. You will see beautiful places, different ways of life and a wonderful nature. Don't pass it!
Thank you very much Rolf. I enjoyed the tour; Benson is a very good tour guide. He told me a lot about the nature, the Kenyan people... It was very interesting to hear/see the point of view of a Kenyan man. Thanks Benson for this tour. I will never forget it.
The tour was great!
See you one more time hopefully.

Thank you for sending the photo of our tour (can you please sent the higher res one).
We had a fantastic time and both yourself and Benson were firstclass. We would recommend this tour to everybody as it is a great way to do something fun and active, get away from the poolside and see some real African culture with two guides who will make sure you get the best from the tour.
Once again thank you Rolf and Benson and we will see you next time we are in Mombassa!

Macht weiter so!

Sarah and Lee Warren UK 19.3.2007

We were only going to be staying in Kenya for 7 days and didn't feel this would be long enough to go on Safari. Therefore we wanted a tour that would take us off the beaten track but not take up too much of our sunbathing time! The half day bike tour along the Creek filled this criteria absolutely.
Benson and Rolf took us through small villages and into the bush, pointing out areas of interest and different vegetation. The tour was far more informative that we expected. The views of the Creek were spectacular, the silence was eerie. It was magical and we felt that we had seen a true Kenya rather than just the inside of a man-made resort.
We would recommend the tour to anyone - even those of you without any cycling experience. It was hard work, particularly in the heat, but we wouldn't have missed it and hope to do it again when we return. 10 out of 10!
