Cross Country requires a lot of stamina, with races held outdoor on challenging courses during the winter season. All these make it an excellent event for selection purposes, which is why all the big champions come from the Cross Country circuit.
So Mombasa with its rich natural heritage, tourism facilities, excellent communication network, improved infrastructure coupled with the recent introduction of Tourism Police passes as an ideal town to the event.
The races routes have already been identified and at an appropriate time will be cleared off the greens.
The dominance in Cross Country running having swung to Kenya’s advantage to win the bid with local athletes longing to win the titles on their own turf, everything possible must now be done to prove to the world that the country is capable of hosting the world event.
The selection of Mombasa is indeed, a major boost not only for its image worldwide, but also for economic well-being of Kenya. It is now a question of drumming up a positive image of the country and in particular the coastal town.
Mombasa Go-Kart is situated just at the race route. We welcome all athletes and visitors on our race track and in our restaurant.
